These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the NIE Attendance Bot (the "Service"), a WhatsApp bot operated on a non-commercial basis by an individual developer (the "Operator"). By messaging the bot you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
The Service is an unofficial convenience tool. It logs into the NIE Parents Portal using credentials you supply and returns your attendance data to you over WhatsApp. The Service is not operated by, affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by The National Institute of Engineering, Mysuru, or by Meta Platforms, Inc.
You may use the Service only if (a) you are the registered owner of the NIE Parents Portal account whose credentials you provide, and (b) you are at least 17 years old. Do not register someone else's credentials.
You agree not to:
To prevent abuse and to avoid overloading the NIE Parents Portal, the Service enforces a per-user daily request limit (currently 10 fetches per day, including any scheduled daily push). The Operator may change this limit at any time without notice.
You authorize the Operator to use the credentials you submit (USN and date of birth) solely for the purpose of logging into the NIE Parents Portal on your behalf and returning your attendance to you. You can revoke this authorization at any time by requesting deletion (see Privacy Policy).
Attendance data is fetched directly from the NIE Parents Portal at the time of your request. The Operator does not generate, validate, or correct this data and is not responsible for its accuracy or completeness. The Service is provided on a best-effort basis and may be unavailable, delayed, or discontinued at any time without notice.
The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, attendance, marks, academic standing, or any other loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the Service is to stop using it.
The Operator may suspend or terminate access to the Service for any user at any time, without notice, including for suspected abuse or violation of these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time and request deletion of your data.
These Terms may be updated. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.
